Why Justin Trudeau’s ‘brownface’ is especially bad | DW News

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has apologised after pictures of him wearing brownface/blackface make-up emerged. A brownface photo was taken in 2001, when Trudeau was a teacher and attended a costume party. Trudeau told reporters he was ‘deeply sorry’ but the story is a bombshell in the middle of a tense Canadian election.
